Liverpool eyeing £62m deal with Tottenham for 25-year-old

Liverpool have searched for a replacement for Philippe Coutinho ever since the Brazilian left to join Barcelona in January and they may have settled on Tottenham Hotspur’s South Korean forward Heung-min Son.

According to German news outlet Sport1, Liverpool are battle Manchester United and Arsenal to procure the 25-year-old signature this summer.

Son made 53 appearances in all competitions for Spurs last season, contributing a total of 29 goals. His superb performances didn’t stop at club level either.

He’s scored 23 goals in 66 appearances for his country, most recently scoring two goals in the World Cup, the last of which came in a shock win over world champions Germany.

Signed from Bayer Leverkusen in 2015, the Tottenham forward has gone on to make 140 appearances, scoring and creating 73 goals. Capable of playing out wide and up front, Son’s versatility would be useful for Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp, who seriously lacks depth in attack.

Son won’t come cheap, however. The Reds would likely be spending the money previously earmarked for Nabil Fekir to sign the Tottenham forward, so Klopp has a big decision to make this summer.
