Nathan Ake opens up about his first conversations with Antonio Conte following his return to Chelsea from Bournemouth FC this January.
Chelsea’s Nathan Ake has revealed the Blues manager Antonio Conte sees him as being able to play in many positions following his return to the Stamford Bridge.
The Dutch international was summoned back to the team last month after first few months of impressive loan spell with Bournemouth.
The 21-year-old has so far, this season notch just one FA Cup appearance for the West London club since his return and will be hoping to nailed down a regular spot in Conte’s first team in the coming weeks and months.
And the Dutch defender has revealed the main positions that the Italian manager expects him to play for the Blues soon.
Speaking in an interview with The Daily Mail, Ake said: “The manager said he sees me in different positions, as a left wing-back and a left centre back.
“He told me to train well and wait for my opportunities. The first one in the FA Cup went quite well. It can always be better.
“Hopefully I can get more chances to express myself and show what I’ve learned over the last couple of years. That’s my main aim. I don’t want to look too far ahead.
“This is the road I took. It was a difficult one because everybody said it would be impossible to break through here. That’s why I want to break through. Just to show it is possible.”
However, Chelsea getting their ass up for their Premier League crunch against Arsenal at The Stamford Bridge on Saturday afternoon as the Blues are keen on getting back to their successful ways following their 1-1 draw with Liverpool in the midweek.
Chelsea winning will determine if they’re favourite to win the Premier League or lose the title to Tottenham Hotspur.
