Antonio Conte’s first Premier League season is going well as Chelsea now has the Premier League Title in their grasp with 14 games away from the end of the season. The manager strove very hard in the summer transfer window to improve his team by signing seasoned players and he his yet again ready to bid for more players at the end of the season to guarantee their success in the Champions League. Real Madrid’s Alvaro Morata appeared to have caught his eye.
The Spaniard became critically acclaimed in Juventus where he contributed immensely to their achievement of League titles and Champions League final. His excellent form in Italy made Real Madrid exercise their buy back clause to bring him back from Juventus in 2016 just two years after selling him.
His return to Santiago Bernabeu Stadium has seen him discontented as he has been unable to make first team. His chances of making the first team have become more restricted with Zinedine Zidane now in a bid to buy yet another attacker in the summer.
With this, the 24-year-old has set his sight on Chelsea for a possible move and he has tendered his transfer request to the Spanish club. But if he should succeed in moving to Chelsea, it may hinder the progress of Michy Batshuayi.
Batshuayi was Antonio Conte’s first signing after he joined the Blues. He was originally meant to be a substitute for Diego Costa when needed but he has been unable to make enough appearance as Costa has been magnificent on the field. Conte appears not to have any plan of moving forward with the Belgian.
The 23-year-old’s success at Marseille was what caught Conte’s eye and made him his first purchase, so, it is hard to believe Conte would discard him so soon.
But if the French manager should feel he has nothing to contribute in Europe next season, he might as well be loaned out of Stamford Bridge. That is only possible if Conte purchases more than one striker, if not Batshuayi will continue his spell with Blues and continue to act as a substitute for Costa and possibly Morata.
