Barcelona are eyeing sensational move for Monaco’s top goal scorer Kylian Mpabbe this summer.
This season for Barcelona was a mixed season in terms of results. They were defeated in the UEFA Champions League by teams like Paris Saint-German and Juventus but had a turn around with a win against rivals Real Madrid in the El Clasico. The Catalans are scouting the transfer market for players to buy who could improve their play next season.
With Neymar rumored to be leaving the club this summer for Old Trafford, the Catalan giants are searching for a quality player who would be able to take up the forward position as expertly as the Brazilian did. At the top of their wish list is the French youngster Kylian Mbappe who is a presently hot property both in the French League and Europe.
The French youngster has been linked with the top names of the game including Barcelona Liga rivals Real Madrid. With 21 goals in 36 appearances for AS Monaco, Kylian is considered one of the goal scorers of this present campaign.
Mbappe is good scoring from distance as well as close range. His outstanding shooting ability is unrivaled, possessing an exceptional header with it. He is also good in setting up his teammates.
Going by reports, AS Monaco has put his release clause at £110 million which if Barcelona follow through with their interest in him, will break the current world record for the highest transfer fee for any player.
Football agent Pascal Boisseu recently said only the top four clubs in the world – Manchester United, Manchester City, Real Madrid and Barcelona – have any hope of landing the player. However, it remains to be seen if Mbappe’s rumored price tag will not be a stumbling block for the Catalans.
Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho, alongside Real Madrid president Fiorentino Perez have shown their interest in the 18-year-old. As per reports, both are in a race to add the mercurial forward to their rank next season. However, nothing concrete has been put in place and it looks like the fate of the prolific goal scorer will be decided at the end of this current campaign.
